What is a Wi-Fi QR code?
A Wi-Fi QR code is a standard QR payload starting with WIFI: that encodes a network name (SSID), password, and encryption type. iOS 11+ and Android 10+ natively recognize this payload and offer to join the network when you scan the code with the camera app — no manual password entry.
Typical uses: cafés and restaurants for guest Wi-Fi, Airbnb hosts, offices, classrooms, event check-in.

A note on Wi-Fi password privacy
The password is encoded in the QR code in plain form. Anyone who can scan or photograph the printed code can read it. For public spaces, use a dedicated guest network with a rotating password rather than your main Wi-Fi.
Qraft runs entirely in your browser — your password is never sent to our servers (unless you choose to save the QR to your account).
Frequently asked questions
How does a Wi-Fi QR code work?▾
A Wi-Fi QR code encodes your network name (SSID), password, and encryption type in a standard format that iOS 11+ and Android 10+ recognize natively. Pointing the camera at the code prompts the device to join the network — no manual password entry.
Will the QR code reveal my Wi-Fi password?▾
Anyone who scans the printed code (or photographs it) can read the password. Treat the printed code like the password itself — keep it visible only where you trust the audience, or use a guest network for public spaces.
Which encryption should I pick?▾
Pick WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 for almost any home or office network. WEP is legacy and insecure. Pick 'No password' only if your network is genuinely open.
Does this work on iPhone and Android?▾
Yes. iOS 11+ and Android 10+ both natively parse Wi-Fi QR codes from the camera app. Older Android versions may need a separate QR app.
Can I print this for my café / Airbnb / office?▾
Absolutely. Export PDF or SVG and print at A6 or larger so the code stays scannable from a meter away. We recommend the SCAN ME frame option so guests instantly understand what it does.
Is this Wi-Fi QR code generator really free?▾
Yes. The full Wi-Fi QR generator with PNG, SVG, JPG, and PDF export is free with no signup required.
